Zohra started her career in journalism as part of the founding team of BLAH Magazine. The magazine, started by Synergy Advertising Group, was Pakistan’s first digital and print platform for the youth.
She was lucky to work with the likes of Ali Raza Merchant, Arsalan Rabbani and Faiza Hassan Ali; all pillars of the digital marketing and advertising industry.
During her time as Assistant Editor for BLAH Magazine, Zohra also wrote an episode-wise fictional named “KARI”. The theme centered around honor-killing (named after the Sindhi term, karo-kari).
The episode-wise story was a great hit, causing emails and fan mail to pour in from all over Pakistan as people shared their own personal experiences regarding honor-killing – which most had witnessed as part of the family culture. The different stories mentioned from the second-episode onwards in the series are all based on reality.
