Zohra is a published writer, with her career in writing officially taking off upon her joining Dawn.com.
She was fortunate to work under the wing of the Newspaper’s former Editor (late) Musadiq Sanwal, who taught her about the importance of journalism ethics and authenticity in the news.
Additionally, she was also a part of the Youth Correspondent Magazine as Editor and Senior Correspondent.

- True Story A true story regarding domestic violence and abuse, based on the experiences of her own maternal aunt. The story was written under an alias to protect her identity and that of her aunt’s (who was alive at the time).
- Report on SV A detailed news report on Sexual Violence across Pakistan. This was the last feature Zohra worked with under the guidance of her mentor, Mr. Sanwal. The feature was published posthumously, a few months after Musadiq had passed away from cancer.
- Report on S.377 This news article showed an overview of the outrage that gripped neighbouring India upon the Indian Supreme Court’s enforcement of S.377 (of the Indian Penal Code) within the country. The article was published in Youth Correspondent.
- Chayn Hackathon An overview of the Peace Hackathon organized by Chayn.
- Pakistan’s YouTube Ban This news article gave an overview of the internet censorship undertaken by the then government of Pakistan, which led to the widespread ban of the YouTube platform within the country.
- Blood Money This is a real-life account of the custom of “Diyaat” or blood money, which allows many murderers to go scot-free in the country.
- An Op-ed on Rape This opinion piece on rape, penned by Zohra, makes mention of the then sudden bout of rape incidents across the country; making women and girls fear for their lives. In a society that still continues to blame victims and survivors, not much has changed since then.
- Corporate Article on “3-Footwear” This corporate feature on the brand “3-Footwear”, founded by a mother and her two daughters, showcases feminine entrepreneurship and a passion for growth in an industry dominated by men.
- Report on Crafter’s Expo A behind-the-scenes glimpse of the Crafter’s Expo, which provides a platform to crafters and handicraft makers across Pakistan to showcase their products.
- Timeline This timeline was compiled by Zohra, showcasing the major Earthquakes that besieged the country.
